Our process

Plastic Testing Capabilities

Materials testing is often the last step in the manufacturing process. Yet, quality is the result of both the process and the material. If the material that goes into the product is defective, then the product may be defective. Quality cannot be put in after the fact. In forming materials, understanding the material’s properties can help to better predict the manufacturing outcome.

  • Chemical Analysis â€“ instrumental and classical wet chemistry

  • Mechanical Testing â€“ wide-range of tests to measure material strength and ductility.

  • Another important property is ductility, which is the ability for plastic deformation in tension or shear. Ductility controls the amount a material can be cold formed, which is the process used when forming automobile bodies or wire products. Two commonly used indices of ductility are total elongation and reduction of area. For suppliers, the mechanical properties are an important measure of product quality, and buyers often require certification of the values.

Perfect in Detail

Special filter method of Grey-Pictures- processing, such as contour, and image filter, reduce the influence of different processing conditions or dirt particles results on the measurement and have contrast-enhancing function ..

A light control ensures automatically adjusting the lighting intensity with changing surfaces and colors.

The measurements in the Z-axis made with the vision sensor through focus variation, either areally as a cloud of points (3D-patch) or as the averaged parent single point.

Of crucial importance for the measurement with the vision sensor, the choice of lighting is (transmitted light, Hellfeldauflicht- or darkfield illumination dermatoscopy).

The selection is done for all models under computer control. For example, a flexible dark field illumination is of great importance in the measurement of complex plastic parts. Ideal here a multi-segment ring light (Werth multi-ring) which allows the adjustment of lighting direction and angle of incidence result, good contrasts targeted at critical object edges can be generated. This is very important for the creation process reliable CNC programs.

Prototype Development

It All Starts With An Idea . . .
It all starts with an idea for an invention or product that you think has commercial potential. On your way to developing your idea, you will need a three dimensional physical representation before you go to production and that's where Smooth-On rubber, plastic and foam materials come in.

Smooth-On materials have been the tools used to make prototype models for over 60 years and are still instrumental today in bringing the world's most amazing products to market.

Plastic materials and articles

Plastic materials and articles coming into contact with food may transfer toxic substances to them. In order to prevent any danger to human health, the European Union (EU) establishes migration limits applicable to substances constituting the materials and articles in question and defines specific conditions of use to guarantee food safety.

CARING FOR NATURE

As an alternative, you can make plastics from renewable resources such as starch from corn, rice and potatoes, vegetable oil, animal fats, crab shells and wood components. Thus, almost everything can be produced, what can be done also from oil-plastic, so as plastic bags, bottles, films for packaging and utensils. This Bio-plastics can usually be decomposed by microbes and fungi, some even so fast that they are referred to as "compostable".

About 265 million tons of plastic are produced worldwide each year. 99.9 percent were from petroleum, a Promill from renewable resources. The bioplastics were the first to be produced industrially.
